A SELF-CONFESSED lady of the night on Monday lost custody of her two children after the court ruled that she was not morally right to continue looking after them.
Lucia Musa and Verbus Kamukura appeared before Mutare magistrate, Mrs Yeukai Chigodora, with the latter claiming custody of two minor children. Kamukura told the court that Musa was not fit to be the children's role model because she was of loose morals as well as being a drunkard.
"The children are not getting enough care from their mother who is a drunkard and a woman of loose morals. She plies her trade at Machikichori Bottle Store in Chikanga. The children are being stereotyped by the community because of their mother's wayward behaviour.
"She has on several occasions received a bashing from wives of husbands she flirts with. I was told all this by the children when they came to my place for their routine visits. On December 25, 2014, she left the children alone at home and returned on January 3, 2015. She would use foul language to shout at me in the presence of the children," said Kamukura.
Musa denied all the allegations, saying she was a member of a dance group that rehearses at Machikichori Bottle Store.
Musa said: "I am part of a dancing group that rehearses at Machikichori so these are lies. I believe he wants me back and that is why he is doing this to me. He has been threatening me for long so I believe this is part of his scheme to deal with me. He makes regular visits to my house pleading with me to take him back."
However, Kamukura had no kind for Musa and said: "In my normal senses I do not intend or wish to reconcile with a woman of loose morals." Mrs Chigodora gave Kamukura custody of the children who are six and nine years old respectively.
