HIV+ security guard caged 10 years

A security guard with Umguza Rural District Council has been jailed for an effective 10 years for exposing her lover to the deadly HIV Aids virus.

Nevson Moyo aged 39 of Douglasdale twice had unprotected sex with an unnamed woman.

Through prosecutor Tinashe Dzipe the court heard that on June 27 Moyo met the complainant at Egodini bus terminus and he proposed love to her and she agreed.

On October 2, Moyo invited her to his house where they engaged in unprotected sex.

After sex, the complainant suggested to Moyo that they go for HIV testing and Moyo agreed.

But he kept on postponing.

However, his tricks backfired on October 27 when the complainant demanded to search Moyo's bag.

She then saw a plastic bag containing antiretroviral drugs and she quizzed Moyo.

"When the complainant confronted Moyo, he initially lied to him that they belonged to his uncle in Nkayi.

"The inquisitive complainant continued to pester him until he confessed that he was on antiretroviral therapy," said Dzipe.

She reported the matter to the police leading to Moyo's arrest.
