Situation in Zimbabwe has reached another level
17 May 2021 at 06:49hrs | Views
THESE past few weeks, I have witnessed some horrific scenes.
The poverty gripping people in communities across Harare is heart-breaking.
I realise now we have a choice to make. We can do nothing — continue on the same path or we can make things right.
Our nation and the people of Zimbabwe are under attack from a government that sees people as a mere inconvenience.
With our people living under squalid conditions, this government chose to purchase a multi-million-dollar helicopter — an incredibly selfish, irresponsible and illegal act.
The time has come for us as citizens to unite and change the course of this country and the region at large.
It is time for a new doctrine to be drafted in subSaharan Africa.
One that elevates the people over politics. One that ensures all who serve the nation can be held accountable for their actions.
I believe that as a nation the time to speak as a united front is now.
Using our voices through the power of the Constitution — we must reject completely the politics of fear, domination and corruption, and open the gates to a new world; a new order, where under God the people rule.
I am looking forward to coming together with leaders across this nation to draft blueprints for a new nation. A nation guided by laws.
A nation of people bound together by the unbreakable bonds of a shared humanity.
This is my hope.
