Time ticking out for Mnangagwa

2 hrs ago | Views
2025 is going to be a very busy year in Zimbabwe politically, socially, and economically.

There are really fundamental concerns that are gaining centre stage in the political sector, to be specific. Politics defines who we are as a people and how the economy operates.

Our economy is currently in intensive care and need oxygen to revive. Retail shops are closing, and unemployment is skyrocketing. The bulk of Zimbabweans have poverty written all over their faces.

Emmerson Mnangagwa's political ability is diminishing, and he lacks support at the grassroots level; hence, the creation of parallel structures. It's a time bomb.

There are only a few brigades of renowned bootlickers who are promoting this 2030 Agenda, and their bubble is not going to see the light of day and will burst soon.

For a country to move forward, the general populace must toe along the lines of the leaders. If there is division and strife, nothing will move.

There should be political stability. Any instability can sway investor confidence. Stable governments typically foster an environment where businesses feel secure to invest, while political turmoil might lead to capital flight or reduced foreign investment.

Currently there are no investors coming into the country to do business. Zimbabwe is mostly relying on informal sector. Most formal businesses are closing down.

Politics and economics are deeply intertwined, with political decisions shaping the economic landscape in both immediate and long-term ways. The two cannot be separated.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has horribly failed. His regime is riddled with corruption and ineffective economic initiatives.

War veterans groups have also raised their voices in asking for Emmerson Mnangagwa's resignation.

With Zanu PF splintered like this, opposition figures such as Nelson Chamisa, Jacob Ngarivhume, and Job Sikhala, who appear to be the most prominent opposition voices, should band together and pull the rug out from under this administration.

There should be a very subtle method of carrying out such a job, and Zimbabweans must be careful not to get dragged into Part Two of this drama.
