Tendai Humbasha Maduwa, popularly known as Sensei Tendai, has been arrested and is currently in police custody after two Tendy Three Investments (TTI) parking marshals opened a case against him following a confrontation in Bulawayo city centre on Friday.
Maduwa was captured on video grabbing and slapping the two parking marshals during a heated altercation over a parking clamp.
The video has since gone viral on social media, attracting widespread attention and debate over the conduct of motorists and parking marshals.
In a statement, Maduwa said the confrontation followed the clamping of his vehicle while he was still manoeuvring into a parking bay.
He disputed the circumstances surrounding the clamping, saying he had not yet completed parking when the marshals allegedly placed the clamp on his vehicle.
The incident subsequently escalated into a physical confrontation, resulting in the two marshals opening a police case against Maduwa.
Maduwa's arrest comes as the police investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and the allegations made by the two parking marshals.
The viral video has also drawn mixed reactions from members of the public, with some questioning the manner in which the confrontation was handled while others have called for motorists to comply with parking regulations and resolve disputes through the appropriate channels.
Further details on the charges Maduwa is facing and his court appearance were not immediately available.
