Bullying karataker granted bail over assault charges

Martial arts instructor and social media personality Tendai Maduwa, popularly known as Sensei Tendai, has been granted US$200 bail after appearing in court facing assault charges arising from a confrontation with two parking marshals in Bulawayo.
Bulawayo magistrate Themba Chimiso granted Maduwa bail and remanded the matter to September 8 for trial.
He is represented by Dominic Moyo of Tashaya Law Chambers.
Maduwa was arrested on August 22 following a confrontation with two parking marshals employed by Tendy Three Investments (TTI) in Bulawayo's central business district.
The charges arise from an altercation on Fife Street between 9th and 10th Avenues on Friday.
According to the account surrounding the incident, Maduwa was preparing to park when one of the marshals allegedly knocked on his vehicle window and informed him that the car had been clamped for obstructing traffic.
Maduwa reportedly disputed the decision, arguing that the vehicle was still moving and that he had indicated his intention to enter the parking bay.
The disagreement subsequently escalated into a confrontation between Maduwa and the two parking marshals.
The incident was captured on video, with footage later circulating widely on social media and generating debate over the conduct of both Maduwa and the parking enforcement officers.
In the video, Maduwa is seen confronting the two marshals before allegedly grabbing and slapping them during the altercation.
Following the incident, Maduwa posted on social media indicating that the matter had been resolved after discussions with TTI management.
He also offered to provide TTI employees with free public relations training.
However, images subsequently emerged showing Maduwa being arrested, leading to further public interest in the incident.
Maduwa later appeared before the Bulawayo courts, where the magistrate granted him bail pending trial.
The assault allegations have not yet been tested in court, and Maduwa remains entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
