Six Highlanders fans die in Filabusi road accident

Six Highlanders Football Club supporters have died and four others were injured after the Nissan NV350 Caravan they were travelling in rammed into the rear of a tipper truck near the Amazon area, a few kilometres outside Filabusi, on Sunday.
The fans were reportedly travelling home after Highlanders’ 2‑0 victory over Herentals at Barbourfields Stadium earlier in the day.
Zimbabwe Republic Police national spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the accident.
The fatal crash cast a dark shadow over Highlanders’ win, turning what had been a celebratory journey into tragedy for the supporters and their families. This incident adds to ongoing discussions around road safety and supporter welfare.
