Towards mending the economy

23 Jul 2014 at 15:39hrs | Views
In as much as resuscitating the economy should take centre stage, it is prudent for the government to guard against any act or attempt to stir economic despondency for what so ever reasons in the future.

The thing that has devoured our economy is political polarisation. It is no longer a case of black and white picture but MDC and Zanu-PF mantra. The inter marriage between politics and the economy was born out of a thoughtless and foolish ambition to power by Morgan Tsvangirai.

He called on the economic embargo, boasting of having the keys to the economy but unfortunately is incapacitated to divorce the two. He provoked a wounded lion and pathetically failed to referee fight between Zanu-PF and the West during the Government of National Unity.

Pondering over that isn't going to yield much for the beneficiation of the general public. Government can rather bill deterring legal statutes to deal with the Tsvangirai kind in the future. The US coined the Patriot Act of 26 October 2006 to guard against any form of terrorism.

Such Acts can aid uniting and strengthening Zimbabwe by providing appropriate tools required to intercept and obstruct sabotage of any form. Certainly we can't allow a society where children grow up inviting enemies to come and chop their fathers after a mis-understanding.

All things being equal Tsvangirai in person and MDC as a party should be sued for the economic meltdown.

If Guy Georgius could take the EU to court and Attorney General Tomana eager to take the same to court then certainly Tsvangirai locally can be held responsible for the  economic atrocities that have bedevil Zimbabwe during the past decade.
