Reigning Premier Soccer League champions Scottland FC have received a major boost to their 2026 preparations after confirming a US$10 million sponsorship package to support both their domestic title defence and CAF Champions League campaign.
The announcement was made during a high-profile kit unveiling ceremony at Harare Sports Club on Friday, where the newly crowned champions signalled their ambition to dominate locally and compete strongly on the continent.
Following a remarkable debut top-flight season that ended in both promotion and a league title triumph, Scottland have moved swiftly to consolidate their position. Club chairperson Everson Chatambudza revealed that the US$10 million package has been secured from multiple corporate partners for the 2026 season.
Ecobank has committed US$1.5 million specifically towards the club's CAF Champions League campaign, while IMC Communications, Sakunda Holdings, Swan Tobacco and Steelmate are among the key corporate backers.
Beyond the financial injection, Scottland have made significant structural changes. The club has appointed seasoned coach Norman Mapeza to lead the technical team, bringing continental experience to their ambitions. He will be supported by former Warriors captain Peter Ndlovu, who takes up the role of team manager.
The squad has also been reinforced with new signings including Emmanuel Ziocha, Abubakar Moffat and Isaskar Gurirab, as the club seeks to strengthen its depth ahead of a demanding campaign.
"Our vision is clear, we want to retain the Premier Soccer League title and compete strongly in the CAF Champions League. This support from our partners gives us the foundation to build a team that represents Zimbabwe with pride on the continent," said Chatambudza.
The event drew several high-profile guests, among them American hip-hop artist Rick Ross, Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Kazembe Kazembe, legislator Chamu Chiwanza and Nqobile Magwizi, President of the Zimbabwe Football Association.
Outside the venue, 27 brand-new vehicles designated for players were paraded, underscoring the scale of investment behind the project.
Government also welcomed the initiative. Deputy Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture Honourable Emily Jesaya commended Scottland for contributing to the growth of local football and aligning with national development objectives.
In a symbolic finale, the new Scottland jersey for the season, signed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, was auctioned for US$1 million and purchased by Sakunda Holdings, with proceeds directed towards the club's 2026 campaign.
For a club that only recently arrived in the top flight, the unveiling was more than a kit launch — it was a bold statement of intent.
