Drowning Mutasa clutching thin straws
17 Jan 2015 at 13:10hrs | Views
There are moments and/or events which are certain in life such as drowning if you carelessly throw yourself into a swimming pool full to the brim with water. Surely, if you were to throw yourself into a winter bon of fire, burns will certainly be a norm on your body.
This is not speculation neither is it day dreaming for the full wrath of water and fire will descend on you in the above depicted scenarios.
A daily tabloid which fixated itself in spreading anarchy, on anything which has a tone of despondency and outright lies carried an interesting Press statement which was signed by one Didymus Mutasa who at one time served as secretary for administration in revolutionary party, Zanu PF.
Lest some were not aware, Mutasa was not voted for to that lofty position due to any special possessed credentials.
He was merely appointed into that position by the iconic President of the Republic of Zimbabwe and Zanu PF's First Secretary, Mugabe.
Had it not been for his kind gesture of appointing Mutasa, he could have been languishing in the doldrums of political obscurity, where he is certainly heading.
Talking of recklessness and desperation bordering on absolute insanity, Mutasa's latest action amongst the numerous irrational acts which he has undertaken deserves a full political response devoid of any kid glove approach.
Mutasa, foolish as usual, wants to depict the ruling party as disorganised and a loose entity. His big mouth and unrestrained ego needs to be checked in a manner which shows that lawlessness and anarchy is not tolerated within Zanu PF.
Anyone who doubted that Mutasa was a mole planted by imperialist within the ruling party, Zanu PF now have an egg on their face, his selfish attributes of being power hungry and his warped mentality of thinking that he is the alpha and omega of Zanu PF, is now in the full glare of the public.
Just a glance to some of Mutasa's nefarious activities will unearth a small mind which had incredible ambitions, a case in point being the numerous rantings in Manicaland province threatening anyone who dared his authority in the party and in any Government activities. Instead of imaging how Zanu PF's founding values were, Mutasa needs to be reminded that they were anchored in upholding democratic principles which he has made a sudden somersault on as he attacks those sacrosanct virtues left, right and centre.
He needs to be reminded that the people of Makoni district rejected him in the Central Committee elections which were held in a free, fair and transparent environment. Mutasa admitted after the elections that they were indeed credible. Wait a minute; the boisterous Mutasa had anticipated that President Mugabe would use his prerogative to revive his waning political fortunes.
President Mugabe had his own choices on his Presidential list which indeed unveiled his vision of a developmental thrust as usual which excluded the humiliated Mutasa. Kudos to the powers that be for such a bold and progressive stance which removed the single most hindrance to the development agenda in Manicaland and indeed the entire country.
One would shudder to think if the worst had happened, that is if the cabal of Mutasa, the short-sighted and loud mouth Rugare Gumbo, a man known much for his traitor exploits and arrogance than anything else in the party who now infamously claim that he was a heroic figure during the war yet it's in the public domain that his rebellious inclinations are part of his political DNA and the excitable and disgraced Joice Mujuru who equally suffered the ignominy of being rejected by even her home district in Mount Darwin, if they had gained any political office in the just ended successful 6th Zanu PF National People's Congress.
As for Gumbo, other than for his tantrums, he has never won an election even when he tried his luck when he had joined forces with the imperialists soon after the war.
He lost on the Zanu Ndonga ticket in the Midlands area. It's just amazing how even Gumbo now turns around and say he is a victim of political manipulation yet the people rejected them.
With Mutasa now in the political wilderness, women who he haunted in the province and the country are now safe.
The man had the habit of using his political stature to intrude the fairer sex.
The law enforcement agencies should move with speed to investigate the case in which Mutasa told one of his numerous girlfriends that if President Mugabe refuses to accede to his cabal's demands that Joice Mujuru be accorded a lofty position, he will be shot.
Mutasa must be arrested for those treasonous sentiments and for his part in his assassination bid together with his cabal on the life of the President.
The law should take its course on these evil-minded personalities. There is a sitting Head of State and Government and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces who is pro-people and indeed an epitome of excellence, hence all such cases need to be thoroughly investigated and any culprits including Didymus Mutasa need to face the full wrath of the law.
Whilst it is Didymus Mutasa's right to exercise his democratic right to freedom of speech, he must also realise that the same people who remain loyal to the popular revolutionary part also have the same rights which he must not trample upon willy nilly. The cadres who form and constitute the bulwark of this revolution will eternally defend its cause. No amount of intimidation will cow the true cadres from the resolute convictions.
Mutasa needs to be urgently expelled from the party of liberation, Zanu-PF, where he is merely an ordinary member. His expulsion will pave the way for a by-election in his constituency which if he attempts to contest will be his Damascene moment where he will be practically shown that he is now in the political graveyard, a political spent force who only benefitted from President Mugabe's benevolence for all these years.
The party Zanu PF has only one route to pursue, which is to expel Mutasa and remove all the rotten moles that surround him.
They have no place in this revolutionary party which is an example to all mass-oriented political parties. Indeed Zanu PF is bigger than individual egos which seek to reverse the gains acquired this far.
