Zimbabweans schedule meeting to establish a Humanitarian Fund in SA

A meeting has been scheduled on the 4th April 2015 to resuscitate and push the boundaries of the Zimbabwe Humanitarian Crisis Relief Programme (ZHCRP) throughout the whole country of Zimbabwe. In 2008 and 2009, the humanitarian relief programme actively responded to a number of crisis situations facing Zimbabweans especially in Kwekwe in a genuinely welfare programme initiative that is now loosely dubbed the "Zhombe Template", as well as to other challenges of our nationals within South Africa.
The "Zhombe Template" programme saved many hopeless lives of our dear people as it delivered and distributed truckloads of medical supplies, food parcels, clothes and bibles to thousands of villagers in the community of Zhombe District at no cost to any one of them. The Minister of Health and Child Welfare at the time, Dr Henry Madzorera, also made an announced visit to the area and witnessed the programme to an extent of recommending the initiative must be extended to include mobile clinics for the area.
Other district and governments officials also witnessed the programme, however, it was suspended by owners of the project for another opportune time when it became clear there was too much frustrations from unnecessary political meddling. A number of known influential people from national government wanted to hijack the community initiative including confiscating certain over-the-counter medical supplies like wound dressing betadine, bandages and buckets of paracetamol claiming they were "discontinued" for distribution or use in the country of Zimbabwe.
The ZHRCP was so successful in that year mainly due to the massive resource mobilisation and networking skills of its founder, Mr Gift Eglone. He shall be the patron and a trustee of this Humanitarian Trust Fund as he now has other greater responsibilities especially as the founding President of the emerging political formation known as the Zimbabwe's Independent Democrats (visit www.zim-id.org), and also has an oversight role on many certain critical projects related to addressing concerns of Zimbabweans in neighbouring South Africa.
The Humanitarian Trust Fund seeks to be the vehicle to finance other new extended initiatives such as a HELP DESK in South Africa which has a myriad of planned altruistic activities such as an Information Centre, Permits Applications Assistance, Networking, Mediation and Social needs, and a Soup Kitchen. A number of other humanitarian initiatives shall be funded from the resources in Zimbabwe at a much long-term basis and in a sustainable manner. Our commitment is that, "The people's welfare is our concern!"
