Ndebele cultural regiment Ibutho leNqama have spoken against, condemning the xenophobic attacks that have stolen the limelight recently.
Ibutho leNqama shares their deepest condolences to the affected families.
"We would like to send our heartfelt and deepest condolences to those who lost their loved ones, those who sustained some injuries and those who lost their assets, their pain is our pain. Their grief is ours.
These attacks have directly affected everyone in the global village," said the spokesperson; Collen Dube.
Ibutho leNqama condemns these barbaric actions which they perceives as a threat to humanity.
"As cultural activists, we embrace humanity, we condone such behaviour and we will do our best to promote unity and preserve the values of human dignity," added Dube.
The cultural regiment calls for more and immediate intervention from all sectors, be it political, cultural and social leaders. Ibutho leNqama encourages collective action from all stakeholders.
"We strongly believe this rot is done by a minority therefore positive efforts by the masses will see the end of this savagery behaviour down to its knees.
We plead with the masses to refrain from indirect fuelling the attacks by challenging each other, be it on social networks or any other platform as this can be provocative on all sides.
Opportunists have taken this situation to promote racism and tribalism by creating and spreading wrong and frightening information on social medias," emphasised the spokesperson.
Ibutho leNqama will continue promoting and parading unity and tolerance amongst all tribes, nations and diverse organisations.
"As cultural activists, we enjoy and cherish a good working relationship with South African organisations particularly cultural group: Imbabazane Cultural Association," added Dube.
The regiment organises and attends musically festivals that features mainly Ndebele and Zulu artists to promote unity and humanity.
Ibutho leNqama has attended ceremonies presided by members of different royal families like Zulu princess Patricia Zulu and AmaNdebele emperor Makhosonke Mabhena to name just a few.
Ibutho leNqama also works hand in hand with Gauteng based traditional leaders like the Ndebele King Luter Sikhosana and Gauteng traditional chiefs led by Chief Ndwandwe.
"We are also working with several cultural, civic, religious and governmental institutes to calm the situation," concluded Dube.
