Mutare born and rugby stalwart who is based at Celcy Sharks Sevens Academy Ngoni Chibuwe has launched a rugby academy in Mutare to give back to the community that nurtured him.

Driven by the passion to give back and contribute to the development of rugby in Mutare and Zimbabwe as a whole, Chibuwe who plies his trade in South Africa at Sharks Sevens Academy said there is a lot of untapped rugby talent in Mutare.

The Hearts of Stones Rugby Academy has come in handy to assist players who want to develop their career as boys and girls from seven years.

He is giving them the opportunity to train focusing more on passing, catching, running lines, fitness, speed and a host of other rugby techniques.

Chibuwe said Zimbabwe needs to put up proper and sufficient rugby structures that nurtures the development of rugby at grass roots level.

He said there are lots of boys and girls who are passionate about playing professional rugby and the establishment of the academy will become the spring board for sport development and talent identification.
