The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) has notified its employees that it has failed to pay the 2025 annual bonuses and December salaries, citing ongoing financial constraints.
In a confidential internal notice dated 31 December 2025, NRZ acting general manager Dube Kaguru said that although November salaries had been fully paid, the organisation was unable to meet its bonus obligations.
“This has been due to financial challenges which continue to constrain the organisation,” Kaguru said.
She advised workers that NRZ would begin disbursing December 2025 salaries during the week beginning 5 January 2026.
“It is anticipated that all employees will be paid both the ZWG and USD salary components by 23 January 2026. Thereafter, the annual bonus payments will follow,” she said.
Kaguru added that the approved salary structure for December was a 50 percent ZWG and 50 percent USD split.
“Members of staff are once again implored to continue to be patient with the organisation during this challenging period,” she said.
