SOUTH African President Jacob Zuma's International relations advisor Lindiwe Zulu has described President Robert Mugabe's blistering attack on her as an issue she will not dignify with a response.
Mugabe referred to "the utterances of a stupid, idiotic woman in South Africa" after Zulu had supported Sadc and MDC calls to delay Zimbabwe's elections.
"This is not my issue. This is not (South Africa) President (Jacob) Zuma's issue, but it is a Sadc issue. It is a Zimbabwe issue," she said. "Sadc stands on the issue of free and fair elections, different from the 2008 elections in Zimbabwe. The Mozambique summit had requested for an extension, not South Africa."
The polls are to be held on July 31 after Zimbabwe's highest court rejected a bid to postpone them. Zulu said she was not reflecting her own view or that of Zuma, but the recommendations made by Sadc at its recent summit in Maputo.
