THE teenager was terrified when a stranger came to her in the street and told her she had a tokoloshe in her stomach.
The 19-year-old said she believed the man when he said he was a prophet and had to pray for her to get rid of her tokoloshe.
"But I can't do it here in the street," he said. "We have to find a private place."
The fake prophet took her to a nearby house in Ivory Park, Tembisa, Gauteng and asked to use a toilet. Then he raped her.
"He threatened me with a knife. He said by raping me he was getting rid of a tokoloshe in my stomach."
After raping her, the man grabbed her backpack with her jewellery and cellphone and ran outside where a man in a car was waiting. They drove off.
The confused teenager said that her attacker told her he has a mirror to show him the people who were terrorising her.
"He said we must go into the toilet first and I would look into the mirror after he prayed for me," she said.
The teenager went home and told her mum what had happened. They opened a rape case at Ivory Park Police Station.
Warrant Officer Nelda Sekgobela said a case of rape was opened.
) Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said this wasn't the first such case.
The suspects go around in a blue VW Golf GTi robbing people of their belongings by posing as prophets or police officers.
"At least four cases have been opened at Tembisa Police Station in the last year of bogus prophets who go around robbing residents.
"People should not be fooled by people who tell them they are prophets and will pray for them."
