The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has announced the postponement of the Morgan Tsvangirai Memorial Lecture, initially scheduled for 15 February 2025. The event will now take place on 8 March 2025 to ensure the participation of distinguished speakers and close friends of the late opposition leader.

In a statement issued by the CCC Communications Department, the party expressed regret over the rescheduling but emphasized the importance of having key figures in attendance. The new date also brings the event closer to Tsvangirai's birthday on 10 March, allowing for a more fitting tribute to his legacy.

In addition to honoring the life and contributions of the former Prime Minister and opposition leader, the event will also commemorate the life of his wife, Susan Tsvangirai, who passed away on 6 March 2009. The CCC highlighted her role as a pillar of strength and support in Tsvangirai's political journey.

"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Further details regarding the venue and program will be communicated in due course," the statement read.

The CCC urged Zimbabweans to come together in celebrating the life and legacy of Morgan Tsvangirai, a figure widely regarded as a symbol of democracy and resilience in the country's political history.

The event will take place in Bulawayo, with more details to be announced soon.
