Zanu PF Bulawayo Province says Cowdray Park legislator Auther Mujeyi has installed electricity transformers across three wards, a development the party claims has brought relief to residents in one of Bulawayo's most densely populated suburbs.
In a statement posted on X, the provincial leadership said the initiative aligns with President Emmerson Mnangagwa's vision of "leaving no one and no place behind" as the country moves towards Vision 2030. The party said Mujeyi's efforts were made possible through the President's directive to improve electricity access in underserved communities.
"In a major breakthrough, Hon Mujeyi has installed transformers in Ward 28 (two transformers), Ward 15 (two transformers) and Ward 6 (one transformer)," Zanu PF Bulawayo Province said.
The party said the installations had brought electricity to many households that had gone for years without power. "As the Bible says, ‘Let there be light' (Genesis 1:3), Mujeyi has indeed brought light to Cowdray Park," the statement read.
Mujeyi said access to electricity was central to development and improving livelihoods.
"Electricity is the lifeblood of development. I'm committed to ensuring that our community has access to this essential service, driving economic growth and improving livelihoods," he said.
Zanu PF said the MP's work reflects his commitment to advancing the President's vision and accelerating progress in Cowdray Park.
