Zanu PF Cowdray Park District 39 recruits 115 new members in membership drive

BULAWAYO - Zanu PF's Cowdray Park District 39 has recruited 115 new members during a mass registration exercise held at Mazengeni Shopping Centre, as the ruling party intensifies grassroots mobilisation in Bulawayo.
The exercise, conducted on Friday, was led by District Chairman Otwell Mudyazvavanhu, who welcomed the new members and urged them to embrace the party's ideology and national development agenda under Vision 2030. He said joining Zanu PF was not merely about increasing numbers but about contributing to Zimbabwe's development. "Today you are not just joining a party. You are joining the movement that is building Zimbabwe brick by brick, under the visionary leadership of President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa," he said.
Mudyazvavanhu said Vision 2030 remained the guiding framework for transforming Zimbabwe into an upper‑middle‑income economy through infrastructure development, food security, industrialisation and self‑reliance. "Under President Mnangagwa, we have achieved self‑sufficiency. We are building dams, roads and schools. Vision 2030 demands discipline, production and patriotism. Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo - a country is built by its own people," he said.
He encouraged the new recruits - many of them youths and first‑time voters - to participate actively in community development and support Government programmes.
The registration exercise was supervised by Gracious of Zanu PF, who travelled from Davies Hall to oversee the enrolment process. She commended District 39 for its mobilisation efforts and urged new members to strengthen party structures at grassroots level. "This is how we grow the party - from the cell, to the district, to the province, to the nation. Every new member has a responsibility to be an ambassador of development in their community," she said.
Mudyazvavanhu described the recruitment campaign as part of broader efforts to build committed citizens who would contribute to national progress. "We are recruiting builders, not spectators. Zimbabwe's future will not be donated to us. We must build it ourselves," he said.
The event concluded with the 115 new members taking the Zanu PF party pledge, marking their formal admission into the party and adding momentum to ongoing discussions around grassroots mobilisation and Cowdray Park political dynamics.
