BULAWAYO Central MP Dorcas Sibanda stunned MPs on Tuesday when she called for doctors at Mpilo Central Hospital to be tested for alcohol saying some of them went to work drunk.

Contributing to debate in the National Assembly, Sibanda said staff at the city's largest referral hospital lacked discipline.

"The other challenge that we have is that of doctors. Some of the doctors come to the hospital drunk," she said.

"There is an honourable member who talked about breathalysers in Parliament. We need breathalysers for these doctors as well so that we can find out if they are sober before they attend to patients."
