'Rebel' MPs agents of Zanu PF, face recall from Parly - MDC-T

BULAWAYO MDC-T provincial council has lashed out at the United MDC members particularly the house of assembly members who rebelled from the party describing them as agents of Zanu PF.
The party said that was because instead of attacking ruling Zanu PF during the combined rally on Sunday last week they castigated Morgan Tsvangirai.
MDC-T Bulawayo deputy Spokesperson Felix Magalela Mafa Sibanda said his former colleagues are sellouts and agents of Zanu PF. He said the Bulawayo MDC-T province was now lobbying for their recall from parliament.
The MDC led by Welshman Ncube and the MDC Renewal Team led by Tendai Biti on Sunday last week held a combined rally at Stanley Square where they attacked Tsvangirai. Biti said Tsvangirai is an idiot who wasted their time.
They said they were not willing to partner with him, but indicated that they were in talks with other progressive groups among them Mavambo/ Kusile/Dawn led by Simba Makoni, Zapu led by Dumiso Dabengwa and Puma led by Bancinyane Ndiweni.
The people who attended the function were reportedly drawn from the parties' twelve provinces.
Mafa Sibanda said the two parties which he described as minor had no theme during their convention as they only concentrated in castigating and vilifying Tsvangirai.
He said they had no theme other than castigating Doctor Tsvangirai. They seem to forget that Tsvangirai is not the President of the country.
"Instead of targeting Mugabe in their statements they seemed to be celebrating his birth day with him as speaker after speaker castigated Tsvangirai and people wonder who they are and whose mission are they pursuing."
He said they shut out Tsvangirai as if he (Tsvangirai) needs them anyway.
"Tsvangirai does not need them anyway, he has got enough members in the party throughout the country. Ncube only got 2% in the 2013 elections and has no membership except those imagined on proportional representation he have in parliament. Biti only stole few Tsvangirai members when he pulled out otherwise they both have nothing and they will die as dodos and never resurrect," he said.
"The MDC-T Bulawayo provincial council can fill the same venue to capacity and the so called national combined rally of Biti and Ncube failed dismally to do so," said Mafa Sibanda.
"Fifty percent of the people who attended the rally were not members but onlookers, church members, civic organization members and children who were just called to fill the premises for the sake of trying to make numbers."
"Their numbers were disproportionate and insignificant to the national size," said Mafa Sibanda. "If their national event cannot fill the small Stanley Square compared to our provincial council, we compete with them at provincial level, they will get nothing."
Mafa Sibanda said Bulawayo has seen an opportunity time to call for the recalling of all rebel MPs after they on Sunday came out in the open that they no longer belong to MDC-T which they attacked and denounced yet they are in parliament through its name.
"Bulawayo has seen opportunity time to recall all rebel MPs," said Mafa Sibanda.
"It would be good for them to do the honourable thing by resigning than to wait for being chased away from parliament. They won the elections through the MDC-T and their ballot papers were written MDC-Tsvangirai not MDC-T. They must breast themselves for being recalled from parliament and any court of law will uphold that recall."
Mafa Sibanda accused the rebel MPs of being agents of Zanu PF stating that this is revealed by the fact that Zanu PF protected them from being recalled at the time when they pulled out of the party to form the renewal team.
"In Bulawayo we have Samuel Sipepa Nkomo, Gorden Moyo, Reggie Moyo, Bekithemba Nyathi, Albert Mhlanga and Gladys Mathe," said Mafa Sibanda. "Their days are numbered in parliament. They should resign or face expulsion. They have proven that they are agents of Zanu PF by attacking Tsvangirai and MDC-T the party they are MPs through its tickets."
He said to prove that they are agents of Zanu PF, Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda has been protecting them from recall.
"Now that Zanu PF has recalled Temba Mliswa and former secretary for administration Didymas Mutasa from Parliament, we shall see if he (Mudenda) will not also announce the recall of former MDC-T members. The fact that they did not attack Zanu PF show that there are its agents and they fear that if they attack it they will easily be chucked out of parliament so they decided to shut up about the ruling party," he said.
