Amagugu International Heritage has donated a consignment of books to Matabeleland North and Bulawayo schools.
Through its Facebook page the organisation said the donation was done on January 19.
"Amagugu Publishers, an affiliate of Amagugu International Heritage Centre, donated on the 19th of January 2017 copies of the book Welshman Hadana Mabhena: A voice for Matabeleland to secondary schools in Matabeleland North and Bulawayo," said Amagagugu.
"The book is co-authored by Pathisa Nyathi and Marieke Faber Clarke. At a brief ceremony held at the Amagugu International Heritage Centre offices in central Bulawayo, Director of Amagugu Publishers Pathisa Nyathi presented 400 copies of the book to Provincial Education Directors from Matabeleland North and Bulawayo, Boitatelo Mnguni and Dan Moyo respectively."
In brief remarks, Mrs Mnguni expressed gratitude to Amagugu Publishers as the publication profiles the illustrious life of a liberation war stalwart that was born and bred in Matabeleland North Province.
The publication was also noted by Mnguni to be in line with the new curriculum that promotes scholarship in arts, culture and heritage.
The book profiles the life of the late Welshman Mabena as a family man, liberation fighter and former Govenor of Matabeleland North Province.
Copies of the book are available for purchase. Contact 0772 104 048 to place your order.
