The Zimbabwe National Business Council (ZNBC) has called on the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) to expedite the setting up of the bond notes supervisory and regulatory board which will monitor the printing of the new notes and instill public confidence.
The call comes as the RBZ has hinted that the setting up of an independent supervisory board is work in progress.
"The RBZ must move with speed and ensure the appointment of an independent board which will supervise the printing of the notes and instill public," ZNBC President, Langton Mabhanga said.
So far the RBZ has printed about $85 million of $2 denominations and recently released $15 million worth of new $5 notes in a move expected to ease liquidity challenges.
