Four pupils mauled by rabies infected dog

Four pupils from Kapiri primary and secondary school in Hurungwe North, Mashonaland West were mauled by rabies infected dog on Tuesday morning on their way to school.
Eye witnesses allege two pupils from Kapiri primary and two from Kapiri Secondary were attacked by a rabies infected dog on their way to school and were rushed to Mwmi hospital where they were later transferred to Karoi hospital.
"Four pupils were attacked by a rabies infected dog this morning on their way to school and were seriously injured hence there were rushed at a local hospital but were later transferred to Karoi after noticing their severe wounds," said the source.
Meanwhile, the dog has been shot dead by veterinary department and a veterinary officer identified as Mr Kore was sent to the schools to educate people on rabies.
