11 Mvurwi road accident victims named

The charred remains of 11 people who perished in the Mvurwi road accident two weeks ago have been identified.
According to Mashonaland Central Civil Protection Unit chairperson Mr Cosmas Chiringa, the remains were identified through DNA and have since been collected by family members from Mvurwi hospital mortuary for burial.
The deceased were burnt beyond recognition following a head on collision involving a commuter omnibus and a private vehicle which occurred along the Mazowe-Centenary Road near Forester Farm two weeks ago.
Mr Chiringa identified the deceased as:
Tatenda Jasi (22) and Happiness Gode ( 31) both from Muzarabani
Tendai Nehwangura (45) from Zimunya
Musarakufa Mashona (40) from Zaka
Pride Zenda (24) from Mvuma
Cleopas Taodzera (41) from Mt Darwin
Dist Wadzwanya from Mbire
Everjoy Chokuda from Guruve
Manatsa Mugoneka (30) from Mt Darwin
Pedzisai Chaka (55) and Kenrod Zimbiti (31) from Mvurwi
Zanu PF Mashonaland Central provincial chairman Cde Dickson Mafios attended some of the burial ceremonies of the victims where he consoled the families.
Meanwhile, the government through the Civil Protection Unit availed US$200 to each of the deceased families while Zanu PF National Political Commissar Cde Saviour Kasukuwere also assisted in his personal capacity to ensure decent burials.
