A MUFAKOSE man says he is living in fear as a result of his late father's girlfriend who harasses him.
Tonderai Mazarura opened up at the Harare civil court where he was seeking a peace order against Mirian Madi who frequently visits their house.
During the court hearing, Tonderai said:
"Your Worship, I learnt of her existence at my father's funeral where she came claiming to have been involved with him.
"She comes to my father's house to harass and threaten us with violence.
''Before he died, my father was a very sick man and she would visit him, so we thought they were just friends.
"During her visits she started getting along with my sister.
"Now she is influencing my ailing sister to go to consult prophets for deliverance.
"I want her to leave us alone because we are sick and tired of her threats."
In response, Mirian said:
"I want peace to prevail but what he is saying is a lie.
"He and his siblings knew that I was their father's girlfriend since 2013.
"Three months before their father died I moved in with him in the house that he and his siblings stay.
"I helped in taking care of their sick father but after his death they did not show any gratitude.
"They chased me away from their house after the funeral and when I left they kept my blankets.
"I go there to take what's mine but they refuse to give me back my three blankets."
Presiding magistrate Tatenda Chipanga granted the peace order in Tonderai's favour.
