Duo convicted of possessing elephant tusks

Two Beitbridge men were convicted of possessing elephant ivory tusks by Masvingo magistrate Langton Ndoreka.
Austine Nyoni and Alvin Matumba pleaded not guilty and were convicted after full trial.
The duo were remanded to 25 October for sentencing.
According to the state papers the duo were arrested on 4 July at Chibi turn off Masvingo after a team of detectives received information on their mission to sell 3,2kg of elephant ivory worth $544.
