420 hours for sex with minor

A 23-YEAR-OLD Mhondoro man was yesterday ordered to perform 420 hours of unpaid work which has to be completed within 12 months after indulging in sex with a 15-year-old.
Michael Madagas pleaded guilty when he appeared before Norton magistrate Babra Chimboza charged with indulging in sex with a young person.
He was sentenced to 15 months in prison before three months were suspended for five years on condition he does not commit a similar offence.
The remaining 12 months were suspended on condition he completes 420 hours of community service at Chivero Clinic.
"Your worship I do admit to the charge.
"I was having unprotected sex with the complainant because she is my girlfriend.
"She lied to me that she is above 16 years of age," he said.
The State, represented by Bruce Mukwende proved that on September 29 this year Madagas proposed love to the complainant and she agreed to the proposal.
It is the State's case that Madagas indulged in sex with the complainant on several occasions.
On October 9 the complainant eloped to the accused's home in Mhondoro and stayed together as husband and wife.
It is also confirmed that Madagas was having unprotected sex with the complainant for several times.
The complainant's parents made a report to the police after the complainant went missing.
Investigations were made leading to the arrest of Madagas.
The complainant was referred to the hospital for medical examination.
