Former ZBC presenter Eric Ramsley Knight has hailed the new president of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa for embracing the opposition and inviting them to attend his inauguration, a sign which he said shows the great statesmanship compared to the Robert Mugabe era.

"Well done Your Excellency Cde ED for embracing opposition. That is what leadership is about, When you on national duty, you become accommodative as you rightly said, you become a President to everyone," Knight said.

"That hug and that smile is very sensual and goes a long way to mend a lot of wounds. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. That was unheard of during the days of Igwe's reign. The only time I witnessed Igwe smiling to a member of the opposition was during the GNU. Well done sir and I equally applaud MDC President Mr Morgan Tsvangirai for reciprocating the same gesture. Thank you sir for acknowledging the office ED holds for now. You. You are exhibiting tolerance, a virtue my country badly needs right now."

"Who knows, maybe one day, one month, one year that Green thing ED is wearing (Im not sure what its called!} will be on you."

He said that's brotherhood, that's nationalism and that's patriotism personified.

"You are showing the nation that opposition is not enmity. You are showing misguided elements in our society that Love and Unity changes personalities. My Zimbabwe shall rise again, soon and very soon! God is Great," he said.
