Former Higher and Tertiary Education minister Jonathan Moyo has revealed that during gukurahundi, President Emmerson Mnangagwa called the people of Matabeleland cockroaches he also alleges that Mnangagwa said God would shorten the lives of people in Matabeleland.

Moyo revealed this after a certain Lance Guma‏using twitter handle @LanceGumawrote, "Could @ProfJNMoyo explain how he calls Mnangagwa a "gukurahundist" while calling Mugabe an "iconic leader"? Everyone knows the 'gukurahundist' was State Security minister for the "iconic leader" who was the beneficiary of the massacres. How do you serve one and diss the other?"

Moyo responded by saying, "There's no debate who, during gukurahundi, called the people of Matabeleland cockroaches; no debate who said God would shorten the lives of people in Matabeleland; no debate who conspired with Rhodies & apartheid criminals to falsify intelligence to justify gukurahundi. It's ED!"

GUKURAHUNDI JANUARY 1983 TO JULY 1984.

"Blessed are they who will follow the path of the Government laws, for their days on earth will be increased. But woe unto those who will choose the path of collaboration with dissidents for we will certainly shorten their stay on earth.'

- MINISTER OF STATE SECURITY EMMERSON MNANGAGWA, 4 APRIL 1983
