Gumbo under fire over delay in Harare-Beitbridge highway

Transport minister Joram Gumbo is under fire from Parliament over the inordinate delay on the $1 billion Beitbridge-Harare-Chirundu dualisation project.

The highway facilitates the movement of millions of people between southern Africa and central, east and North Africa while also facilitating regional trade. Government is yet to start repairing and upgrading the highway.

Gumbo said project of this magnitude are not done over night.
