The Minister of State for Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs Advocate Martin Dinha has told President Mnangagwa that the province has not recorded a single incident of political violence.
In his welcoming remarks at the official ground breaking ceremony of the national sports academy at Bindura University, Dinha said the death of a two year old in Glendale which was widely reported by certain media outlets as politically motivated had nothing to do with politics.
"Your Excellency sir, the province of Mashonaland Central has headed your current call for peaceful, nonviolent and democratic elections by preaching the gospel and practicing and being guided by it in all political conduct, to date we have had no single case of political violence in the province.
"The reported matter of a two-year-old boy named Professor Lumbe is not at all a case of political violence, l must repeat, our detractors are easy and ready to tarnish the image of Zimbabwe as we go to this land mark elections," said Dinha.
Professor's father Rambai Lumbe is the provincial secretary for the National People's Party in Mashonaland Central and the party's parliamentary candidate for Mazowe North constituency. Thus people where quick to attribute the unfortunate death of his son to politics.
However, Dinha is reported to have been economic with the truth as ZANU PF primary elections were marred by violence especially in Mazowe district.
Mashonaland Central party chairman Kazembe Kazembe's supporters are reportedly being taken to Bindura magistrate court after clashing and looting groceries from Tafadzwa Musarira's supporters.
Last Sunday in Bare at a rally addressed by ZANU PF national political commissar Engelbert Rugeje supporters aligned to Dinha went on rampage and assaulted supporters of his rival Campion Mugweni.
