Opposition MDC Alliance presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa has pledged to rationalise agrarian reforms in Mashonaland Central in a bid to avert food shortages and availability foreign currency in the country.

Chamisa lamented the fact that a lot of farmers in the one time bread basket of the country have land that is lying idle. He promised to issue tittle deed to potential farmers and compensate those that lost their land dubiously in the land resettlement programme dubbed "Hondo Yeminda."

Addressing his supporters in Mazowe North, Mvurwi stadium on Sunday, Chamisa said "My government will see to it that Mashonaland Central province goes back to being the bread basket, many of farmers here are not utilising the land they grabbed and l assure you that we will issue tittle deeds to those with potential."

Chamisa said Mvurwi Town was being let down by farmers who were not delivering to their expectations hence sabotaging the country in both foreign currency and food supply.

"This Mvurwi area is being sabotaged by farmers who are not delivering, we should not cry over foreign currency shortages when we have tobacco farmers here, when we talk of food we were supposed to be folding hands and getting food that feeds the nation from here," bellowed Chamisa amid cheering.

The youthful opposition presidential aspirant said investors should first develop the country's infrastructure in order to create employment since many investors are interested in the land issue.
