A message purported to be from President Emmerson Mnangagwa apologising to the nation for comparing his government of Zanu PF to God's administration has gone viral in the social media amid suspicion that its is fake.
Mnangagwa this week liken his administrations to far much better than what God's heaven administration is.
In what appeared to be a doctored screenshot of a tweet by President Mnangagwa saying: "Let us continue to be united and address our differences peacefully. I also want to take this opportunity to apologise for comparing Zanu PF government with heaven leadership. I know it might have offended many of my fellow Zimbabweans, but I intended to make a joke. God Bless Zimbabwe."
It is not clear whether the tweet was posted and later deleted by the president, however the screenshot also shows a response by Shaun Doropa - who also does not exist as a user on Twitter.
