Norton legislator Temba Mliswa has mocked controversial businessman and Intratrek Private Limited director Wicknel Chivhayo for taking pictures with president Mnangagwa as a way of trying to evade justice.
Mliswa as the Chairman of the Parliamentary portfolio committee on Mines and Energy has been at the forefront of the crusade seeking answers from Chivhayo over the Gwanda Solar energy project.
Mliswa said, "Taking pictures with ED doesn't guarantee immunity as Chivhayo has found out when denied bail & returned to remand. WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK! Justice must prevail & the outcome of this case is eagerly awaited."
Chivhayo is being accused of defrauding the Zimbabwe Power Company of over $5 million. The charges range from money laundering and violating the exchange control regulations.
He was remanded in custody to 17 August, pending trial by Harare magistrate Elisha Singano yesterday.
