The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting has informed the nation that President Mnangagwa and the First Lady Auxilia Mnangagwa will make an official visit to the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) on Sunday 4 November.
Said the Ministry, "His Excellency, President ED Mnangagwa and First Lady Amai A Mnangagwa will pay an Official Visit The Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Kudzaka Gomo Conference: Mbungo Masvingo."
The announcement has sparked speculations that since the First couple is paying an official visit and not to worship, they are going there to consult with the Bishop of one of the largest churches in Zimbabwe of how to run the nation.
Political commentator Ndodana Moyo said, "Please help me out here, how does a president have an OFFICIAL visit to a church sanctuary? I'm lost. a visit I get yes, but an official one? I then conclude that the President is going there on a government visit to consult the spiritualist Bishop on how he can turnaround the economy since it is showing him flames."
ZANU PF is no stranger to consulting spiritualist on how to run the country. Former President Robert Mugabe was a regular at the Apostolic sect services and many high ranking officials have been linked to nanga's to ask political power.
