High Court throws out Mahere's application

The High Court of Zimbabwe has dismissed an application filed by lawyer and political activist Fadzai Mahere against Cabinet Minister Hon. Tino Machakaire, ruling that the case had been improperly brought before the court.

In a recent judgment, Justice Happias Chitapi struck the application off the roll, finding that it was filed irregularly. Mahere had initiated the proceedings alleging defamation and contempt of court, claiming that Minister Machakaire had made statements accusing her of corruption.
