Mnangagwa preaches peace, unity

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has urged the nation to continue maintaining peace and unity for development.
He said this in a speech read on his behalf by Senator Josiah Hungwe at the National Sports Stadium during the Peace and Family Festival.
The festival is a brainchild of South Korean Dr Hak Ja Han Moon under Family Federation and World Peace and Unification (FFWPU).
Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Energy Mutodi and other Government officials graced the event.
"Unity is important for people to live in harmony, we want a unity of purpose for the economy to recover.
"As the President of Zimbabwe, I am aware that we cannot achieve development and progress without peace for it is the source of our happiness.
"Peace begins with me as the President, with all the families and this help us with the mantra, Zimbabweans is open for business," he said.
The President hailed Dr Hak Ja Han Moon who is an advocate for the peace initiative and reconciliation.
"To that end, your coming on Zimbabwean soil during my presidency in this country marks a new beginning for Zimbabwe and the era of economic rejuvenation.
"It is an important message not for Zimbabweans only but in other 194 countries, what a wonderful lady, great lady of this world.
"God sees you as a centre in this world where you preach peace," he added.
Dr Hak Moon said she was pleased to grace the festival.
"If we would follow God's way, there will be development. We have come in trust to preach peace and unity amongst people in the World," she said.
Chairperson of the festival Archbishop Johannes Ndanga commended the initiative and hailed the attendance.
"We are not worried much about the attendance but those who came have been blessed.
"As Christians, we love to come together in trust and harmony because peace is what we want."
Added Ndanga:
"I congratulate you all whose marriages are being dedicated on this occasion and I wish you happy marriages filled with peace and love."
FFWPU is an organisation that promotes peace. They encourage people to lead in the way of God in order to become successful.
A total of 40 000 couples were expected to grace the occasion to be rededicated by Dr Hak Moon.
