Fresh In A Box founder and William Mutumanje's close ally Kuda Musasiwa has slammed Steward Bank and Ecocash for the transaction charges that are charged by the two entities.

Steward Bank and Ecocash are owned by billionaire Strive Masiyiwa.

"Steward Bank and Ecocash are evil and profiteers! 1) To check your Steward Bank or Ecocash balance they charge you on app 2) they charge you for a mini statement of last 4 transactions and it's always just charging. Never transaction. 3) To get a print out statement costs you $10." Musasiwa fumed.

Musasiwa said the entities were taking advantage of the fact that Zimbabweans cannot access cash and are forced to resort to electronic transactions.

"A dollar to check your balance or mini statement that only then shows u the charges for using mobile money. EcoCash and steward Bank you are the most unethical banks ever. Using the fact that you can not give us our money and we are forced to use your electronic apps.

"If Ecocash "Take" your money and the retailer doesn't reflect, they keep it for over 24hours then return it minus costs. You pay for their broken system."

Zimbabwe has been a liquid crisis since 2017 and citizens are forced to resort to electronic transactions.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is on record saying Zimbabweans do not need to hold physical cash but must follow global stands and use plastic money.

However, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appeared in recent Public Relations stunts donating United States Dollars hard cash to patients at hospitals.
