Exiled former cabinet Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo has come under fire from a prominent Bulawayo pastor Anglistone Themba Sibanda who is accusing him of grandstanding over Gukurahundi genocide.
Moyo has of late been questioning President Emmerson Mnangagwa's sincerity in resolving the Gukurahunding question.
Said Pastor Sibanda, "Jonathan Moyo has been crying about burying his father since 2014, now that opportunity is availed, he is throwing tantrums looking for political relevance. He should just shut up and come and burry his father."
Sibanda further accused Moyo of working with ZANU PF to silence dissenting voices over the years when he was an acting member of the party.
"Zimbabwe is moving on and there is no time for tantrums. We are moving on while he barks from hiding. He worked hard to build ZANU PF and to destroy opposition and Civic Society. The NGO Bill that even Mugabe rejected was his idea to destroy NGOs and Civil Society. He must keep his mouth shut." Sibanda added.
Mnangagwa recently met a grouping on Matabeleland activist who are branded as the Matabeleland Collective and together they agreed on a way forward in resolving the Gukurahundi question.
Mnangagwa later on sent the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry on Justice Virginia Mabhiza to inform the activists that the government will avail free healthcare, documentation and assist in the reburial of Gukurahundi victims.
The engagement between Mnangagwa and the activists has been received with mixed feelings by Zimbabweans with MDC Deputy National Chairperson Tendai Biti calling for an International Commission to t he genocide.
