Harare tap water to be restored as chemicals arrive

Harare City Council has announced that it will be reverting to ordinary water rationing after purification chemicals started arriving at its Morton Jaffray water treatment plant on Wednesday.
"Supplies of chlorine gas have started arriving at Morton Jaffray Water Treatment Plant ensuring that water treatment continues. We continue to engage the monetary authorities for payment to other suppliers of different chemicals."The Council said in a statement.
On Tuesday the City fathers had announced that they can only provide 100 million litres of water a day out of a target of 450 million litres.
Some parts of Harare have been running without council water for as far as 5 years.
