The Mayor of Bulawayo Solomon Mguni led Bulawayo City Fathers to walk out of a meeting held by Energy and Power Development Minister Fortune Chasi in Bulawayo on Friday.
Chasi was meeting stakeholders over the issue of the cooling towers which must be demolished soon.
The Mayor was given an opportunity to speak and he said the Council will not allow a lodger to dictate how its property is treated. After that he walked out with his councillors.
Chasi then asked ZESA management why they did not consult the Council, the local planning authority on the projects. He acknowledged the council is aggrieved over the issue.
ZESA and Council have a pending court case regarding ownership of the towers.
