A High school Headmistress at Wankie Secondary School has caused a stir after she forced form four students to register four subjects or less.
The head identified as Mrs Kwami claims that students at her school traditional perform poorly, hence there was no need to burden them by seating for mandatory five subjects are more.
Matabeleland North Provincial education director, Biotathelo Mguni said there is no law that restricts students to register the number of subjects they want to write.
"The school is allowed to give professional advice to the students and we respect that but it is not a low. Teachers know better if the child is ready or not to sit for certain subjects" she said.
Kwimi said "Students have to write subjects that they will pass rather than just registering".
"It is important for the child to write subjects that or she will pass" she added.
She said parents where called to the school to help chose subjects for their children but did not turn up a move that forced teachers and her to select on behalf of the students.for technology and improvement of client convenience.
