Moses Mzila
Ndlovu, MDC Deputy Secretary General on Saturday while addressing a rally in Binga North said Zanu-PF has
failed to honour the Tonga people even though they played a big role during the liberation struggle as the guerillas
crossed through Zambezi River into the country.
Mzila
Ndlovu said the Zanu-PF
failed to honour the sacrifices made by the people of Binga through
development. He said that the Zanu-PF government continues to behave
like the racist Smith government that discriminated against other
people.
"You were the first people to see the guerillas, you made a record sacrifice. This party will honour those sacrifices through allowing devolution of governmental power and giving you control over your resource. During the Copac outreach program you were clear that you wanted devolution of power and recognition of Tonga language, now Zanu-PF is saying no, no to those things in the draft, but this party has taken a stand we will refuse this Zanu PF demands " said Mzila Ndlovu.
Binga North constituency in the last election was won by the MDC-T but the MDC has since made inroads into the constituency since the last congress that saw the election of Welshman Ncube as President of the party.
