Prison officer bashes colleague for bedding his wife

In a dramatic incident a prison officer assaulted his colleague for allegedly having an affair with his wife.
While Philmon Mkombwe (39) and his colleague Bernard Takura (42) were boozing at a friend's place, Philmon sprung a surprise as he accused Takura of seeing his wife behind his back.
An argument ensued between the two and Philmon grabbed Bernard before he assaulted him with fists all over the body. Philmon did not stop at that as he continued attacking him.
He kicked him all over the body while warning him to stop seeing his wife. The prowling Philmon was restrained by a neighbour who was boozing with them. After that Bernard reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of Philmon. Appearing before Western Commonage magistrate Shepherd Mnjanja Philmon pleaded guilty to an assault charge.
He was fined $6 000 and is supposed to pay it by 3o September. If he fails to pay the fine, he will serve a four-month jail sentence.
