Five primary schools in the Midlands province have recently received a donation of 100 laptops and accessories from President Mnangagwa, marking a significant step towards enhancing the integration of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the country's education sector. This initiative reflects the Second Republic's commitment to modernizing education and ensuring equitable access to technological resources for learners.

By equipping schools with laptops, projectors, printers, and other ICT gadgets, the Government aims to bolster digital literacy, bridge the digital divide, and prepare students for an increasingly technology-driven world. The donation follows the recent launch of the Zimbabwe Fibre Optic Network project and underscores the importance placed on education as a driver of national development and empowerment.

The establishment of state-of-the-art ICT laboratories in schools nationwide highlights the government's dedication to providing students with cutting-edge learning experiences and equipping them with essential skills for the modern economy. Minister Owen Ncube, addressing school stakeholders during the handover ceremony at Gomo Primary School, emphasized President Mnangagwa's unwavering commitment to improving education standards across the country.

Minister Ncube underscored the transformative impact of initiatives such as Heritage-based Education 5.0 and competence-based curriculum, which aim to align the education system with the demands of the fourth industrial revolution. He also praised President Mnangagwa's visionary leadership in approving the licensing of Starlink, a renowned satellite-based internet provider, which will ensure fast and reliable connectivity nationwide.

Furthermore, Minister Ncube highlighted the government's proactive efforts in providing essential infrastructure, equipment, and human resources to support digital innovation and economic development. The launch of the BCS Zimbabwe Fibre Optic Network project and the establishment of community information centers are significant milestones in Zimbabwe's digital revolution, paving the way for enhanced e-services and connectivity nationwide.
