Mnangagwa birthday bash ends in tragedy as father, son die

MVURWI - A father and son are believed to have died on the spot after the Toyota vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident near Makumbiri in the Mvurwi area on Tuesday night.
Close sources said the two were coming from Munhumutapa Day commemorations, which coincided with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s birthday celebrations, when the accident occurred. The vehicle reportedly veered off the road under circumstances still to be established.
“The bodies of the deceased have been taken to a mortuary and police are in the process of notifying next of kin,” a source close to the incident said. “Details will be availed once the families have been informed,” the source added.
Police had not confirmed the accident by the time of going to print.
