South Africa-based Zimbabwean entrepreneur Nyasha Chisoko has been crowned Female Personality of the Year 2024 at the prestigious Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA). The annual event celebrates the remarkable achievements of Zimbabweans in the diaspora, with past winners including Hollywood star Danai Gurira and acclaimed actress Chipo Chung.

Chisoko, founder of the diaper bag company MAZH Babies and owner of a successful beauty studio, expressed her excitement and gratitude for the recognition.

"I am truly humbled and overjoyed to have received the Female Personality of the Year 2024 Award, especially considering the three incredible women I was nominated alongside, who are extremely talented and have excelled in their respective fields," she told NewsDay Life & Style.

The other nominees were: Tsitsi Chawasarira, former Zimpraise vocalist, songwriter, and talk show host. Shaleen Nullens (Ms Shally), a UNHCR founding member and BET Awards planner. Erica Ndoro, radio and TV host, voice-over artist, and corporate MC.

Chisoko dedicated her win to women everywhere, emphasizing the importance of persistence and self-belief. "This award isn't just a personal victory; it's a reminder to all the ladies out there that nothing is impossible. Our dreams can become reality with persistence, passion, and a willingness to learn and grow," she said.

Chisoko's MAZH Babies brand has gained international attention, with features in British Vogue and Glamour UK. Her products are stocked in Chelino Baby, a major South African luxury store chain. Additionally, her beauty studio has become a sought-after destination for women seeking premium beauty services.

Reflecting on her journey, Chisoko credited her success to hard work and faith. "Winning this award is a surreal moment that validates the resilience and dedication I've poured into my craft over the years. It's a testament to perseverance, and I'm grateful to have had God by my side throughout this journey," she said.

The awards ceremony took place on November 30 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton, South Africa, and marked another milestone in celebrating Zimbabwean excellence globally.
