Man Jailed for Dagga Possession and Distribution

Nzwanai Chitamba (47) of Gaza O, Chipinge, has been sentenced to three years in prison for dealing in dangerous drugs, following his conviction by Chipinge magistrate Nixon Mangoti.
One year of the sentence was suspended on condition of good behaviour.
According to court proceedings, Chitamba was apprehended by police during an early morning patrol on October 23. A body search revealed 23 sachets of dagga, and a further four sachets were recovered from his residence. The total weight of the confiscated dagga was 50 grammes.
The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb drug-related crimes in the region.
