BINDURA - A deeply disturbing case has emerged from Madziwa, where a 37-year-old man was allegedly caught raping his 15-year-old daughter by his wife after the girl screamed for help.
The accused, whose name has been withheld to protect the identity of the minor, appeared before Bindura Regional Magistrate Elisha Singano and was remanded in custody to November 28.
According to the state, led by prosecutor Clever Nyapfani, the incident occurred on November 1. The suspect was reportedly left alone in the dining room by his wife. Hours later, he allegedly followed his daughter to her bedroom, forced her to undress, and raped her.
The victim's screams alerted her mother, who rushed to the room and found her daughter naked and the accused partially undressed. A police report was filed, leading to the suspect's arrest.
The case has sparked outrage and renewed calls for stronger protections for minors and harsher penalties for sexual offenders.
